Porsche recently confirmed that the all-electric version of the Cayenne is on the way. The all-electric Cayenne is expected to be built on the PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric) which is Porsche and Audi’s new architecture for all-electric vehicles. The new Cayenne will be a continued expansion of Porsche’s crossover lineup.

What to Expect This Year

Although the all-electric Cayenne has been confirmed by Porsche, the timeline of when it will hit the market is going to be sometime after the all-electric Macan in 2024 and the electric 718 models which will be released the following year. Porsche is also releasing a new flagship electric SUV which is expected to come before the electric Mancan. The new flagship EV will have a strong performance and will be fitted with automated driving functions.

This year an updated version of the gas-powered Cayenne will be launched, however it will now include three plug-in hybrid versions with improved eclectic range. Porsche will continue to offer the Cayenne with the internal combustion engine alongside the new hybrid plug-in models.

Porsche also announced that it will be riding on SSP Sport which is a variant of Volkswagen’s Scalable Systems Platform. Porsche also expects their gas powered vehicles to take their last laps within the next two years as the fully-electric models start to come out.
